Merry Christmas

Season's greetings from a stormy Port Appin on the shores of Loch Linnhe in Argyll.

As I write, Storm Barbara is making her presence felt, but we and our neighbours in the village are battening down the hatches, putting a few more logs on the fire and getting into the holiday mood with our favourite Christmas CD's (My favourite just now is Phil Cunningham's Christmas Songbook!)

We are, in all honesty, reasonably sheltered here in Loch Linnhe - and we'll certainly miss the full brunt of the storm, although the sea loch is looking spectacularly wild! Our thoughts go to the folks out there who are making their way home to friends and families in the Inner and Outer Hebrides and who are facing ferry cancellations due to storm conditions. We wish them a safe journey.

So, all that remains to say is to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.   We're taking a few days off over Christmas to spend time with our families. We'll be back for 'Twixmas', getting ready for our Hogmanay celebrations and we are of course open throughout the remainder of winter.  (see below)

Happy holidays to you all...

best wishes
