Lismore Agricultural Show

A spot of rain didn't dampen spirits at the first Lismore Agricultural Show since the 1930's.

Saturday 16th July was the day of the inaugural Lismore Agricultural show, complete with animals, home baking, crafts and delicious food stalls. The Pierhouse's Caroline had a half day off to enjoy the show - she was particularly impressed by the stands selling prosecco & rhubarb cordial and Lismore Oysters with a variety of additions - tequila, sliced sushi ginger, tabasco, Cointreau. Norma (from The Pierhouse's accounts dept) won the Best Strawberry Jam award and was also very proud to have won the Best Baby Knitted Outfit (which Port Appin's Moira nearly always wins). Many thanks to Teenie Wilson and Isle of Lismore Community Facebook page for use of the show photo. See more here>

Explore Lismore's scenic island tour

The weather was not particularly kind but it was still a lovely day and the first Lismore Agricultural show since the 1930s. Regular Pierhouse guests Gillian & Roy Smith and their friends who were here to celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary all went off to the show with Robert in his lovely blue landrover - the new ‘Explore Lismore’ business which offers scenic island tours around Lismore (on and off road) plus a taxi service.
