When recent guests Poppy & Seb from Kent booked their autumn break at The Pierhouse, a special request was made for a packed lunch suitable for a vegetarian/gluten free diet for a long day on the hills climbing the UK's highest mountain, Ben Nevis. True to form, Head Chef Laura, got her thinking cap on and came up with a protein-rich feast for to make sure our active guests kept up their energy levels all day. Poppy & Seb set off early in the morning heading for Fort William with a backpack full of energy-giving goodies including dried fruit and nuts, rice crackers and avocado, individual porridge pots (just add water - flask of) and roasted vegetables.
After their visit, Poppy emailed to let us know how they got on: "It was great, we managed the Carn Mor Dearg arête hike which was challenging but sadly no visibility at the top! The picnic was amazing, thank you. We had a wonderful stay. Service was exceptional and we look forward to our next stay. Thank you for making it so memorable Kirsty, the waiting staff in the dining room and others were fantastic and the veggie picnic I requested was gourmet!! Thank you!"
