New horizons for Nick & Nikki
It has not been an easy decision and it is one we have thought long and hard about. When we arrived in Port Appin in January 2006 our 3 children were young and now, as if in the blink of an eye, they are all grown up, living and working down south. We both feel the time is therefore right to hand over custodianship of The Pierhouse and look for a new opportunity in a different part of the UK, closer to our children and wider family.
We have had a fantastically fulfilling time here in Port Appin and are hugely grateful to all our wonderful staff who have been incredibly loyal to us over many years. We have done our best to reciprocate this loyalty and the fact that many of our staff have been with us for so many years is testament to having such a great understanding and respect for each other. We have all aged together experiencing life’s challenges over more than a decade, becoming in many ways like an extended family. We are also most grateful for the support & friendship we have received from the local communities of Port Appin, Appin and Lismore over these years.
A final thank you
Finally, we would like to thank our hotel residents and guests who we have met over the years and to say how much we have appreciated your support and custom during our tenure at The Pierhouse. We have been so touched by the farewell and good luck messages we've received - one guest has even played us a lament on the pipes by the water's edge!. We send you all the very best of wishes and very much hope that you will continue to visit and enjoy The Pierhouse in the years to come.
