Hogmanay at the Pierhouse Hotel and Seafood Restaurant, Argyll, ScotlandNew Year Menu

Come & join us for a fantastic Hogmanay Night of celebrations!

Champagne will be served on arrival prior to our Special 5 course candelit Hogmanay Dinner in the restaurant. The evening entertainment will include an excellent live Ceilidh band and Piper which will certainly ensure you are in the real Hogmanay spirit! The finale to the evening will be a fantastic firework display off the end of the pier, weather permitting short of a Force 10 gale! Our Hogmanay menu with evening entertainment is £60.00 per person. Sample Hogmanay Menu

A glass of champagne on arrival and an 'amuse bouche' at your table

Parsnip fondant with red onion marmalade & crowdie cheese served warm

Starters

Pheasant & Wood Pigeon terrine wrapped in pancetta served with Pierhouse chutney & peppered croustinies

 

Hot roasted Pierhouse smoked local Salmon with winter leaves & a horseradish crème fraiche

 

Warm tart of leaf spinach & Scottish Dunsyre blue cheese on a rocket & tomato salad (V)

Soup

Homemade Local Shellfish bisque or Cream of mushroom & madeira soup (V)

Mains

Roasted loin of Highland venison on a fondant potato with a port & rowan berry sauce

 

Paupiette of Lemon Sole encased with local Langoustines on champ potatoes & a champagne butter sauce

 

Honey roasted pumpkin filled with a cassoulet of pulses in a tomato fondue (V)

Followed by:

Warm bruschetta of Highland cheeses

Desserts

Dark chocolate crème brulee with chocolate dipped shortbread

 

Poached pear in sweet white wine with house made Bramley apple & rosemary sorbet with an almond tuile biscuit curl

 

Bombe surprise (baked Alaska style)

 

Freshly brewed cafetière of coffee or pot of tea served with homemade fudge
